MauBank announced today that Praveen Nair has been appointed to the role of Chief Information and Digital Officer, reporting to Vishuene Vydelingum, CEO of MauBank.
Praveen Nair will be responsible for developing a bank-wide digital strategy in close collaboration with the Executive Committee of MauBank. His mandate will include the development of digital tools and platforms, as well as automation of business processes towards a comprehensive digital transformation of MauBank. His rich and diverse experience in building solutions within the banking and financial services sector places him well to lead MauBank towards the next generation Digital Solution Business.
Mr Nair has 19 years of experience at senior positions within various entities operating in the Banking, Telecommunications and Fintech Sectors. He has expertise in the Digital Transformation, Financial Operations, Credit, Lending, Risk, Collections and Process Excellence. Prior joining Maubank, Praveen Nair was the Chief Operating Officer at Credito PLC, UK for 4 years where he designed and set up of IT, Finance, Strategy, HR and Operations departments. He also successfully introduced the Digital Technology Architecture for AI Based Digital Debt Collections and Information Security controls. He has also been the Co-Founder and Board Member of the UK Fintech. Before Credito PLC, he was the Head of Process Transformation & Digitalization at Commercial Bank International in Dubai for 8 years where he has developed a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with the Bank’s objectives.

In 2023, the bank received the award of the Best Digital Experience in Banking (Mauritius) from CFI.co, and that of the Best Best Digital Transformation in Banking (Mauritius) in 2022. The appointment of Praveen Nair in this context will be geared towards the development of digital resources that will enhance convenience and ease-of-use for clients. The Chief Digital & Information Officer (CIDO) will be responsible to oversee IT Services and Operations.
